The Ocean Train Depot was once the most important building in South San Luis Obispo County. All passenger, freight, telegraph and mail service passed in and around the Depot. People visit from all over the country and many remark how their community once had an old depot and it was torn down or burned and they feel the loss. The Ocean Depot Association is committed to preserving the history and character of the building and sharing it with new generations.
The annual Model Railroad & Historic Depot Restoration Days features the ever popular N scale layout and expanding HO scale Free-mo layout. There could possibly be some outdoor "G" scale trains running too.
This event is held annually on the last weekend in January. The model railroad events are both Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm, and the restoration activities will be from 2pm to 4pm.
